Down Syndrome

Special education programs that support the independent living skills and social participation of individuals with Down syndrome.

Down Syndrome is a genetic condition that occurs with an extra copy of chromosome 21 (Trisomy 21). Individuals with Down syndrome may need different levels of support in cognitive development, motor skills, language, and speech areas. As Önce Special Education, we offer a comprehensive and loving education environment that supports all developmental areas of children with Down syndrome at our center in Pendik, Istanbul.

Our Down syndrome education program is designed considering the individual development speed and potential of each child. Cognitive development support, speech and language therapy, fine and gross motor skill studies, social skill education, and independent living skills are the core components of our program. At our Pendik center, our multidisciplinary team of experienced special education specialists, physiotherapists, and language therapists enriches children's learning experiences using education strategies and materials specific to Down syndrome.
