ADHD Program

An individual support program that teaches coping with attention deficit and hyperactivity, and strengthens focus.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental conditions in childhood. ADHD, which manifests with symptoms such as shortened attention span, impulsivity, and excessive activity, can negatively affect the child's academic success, social relationships, and daily life functionality. As Önce Special Education, we offer comprehensive and individualized education programs for children diagnosed with ADHD in Pendik, Istanbul.

Our ADHD education program focuses on developing attention and concentration skills, strengthening impulse control, supporting executive function skills (planning, organization, time management), and increasing academic performance. Experienced special education specialists and psychologists working at our Pendik center create goal-oriented intervention plans by identifying the individual strengths and needs of each child. Cognitive behavioral strategies, attention training techniques, and structured learning environments form the basis of our program.

In our center located in Pendik, Istanbul, ADHD education is not limited only to the child's individual sessions. Providing psychoeducation to families about ADHD, collaborating with teachers, and sharing strategies to be implemented in home-school environments are important parts of the program's holistic approach. Our goal is to ensure that children with ADHD use their potentials at the highest level and to support their self-confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does ADHD education take?

ADHD education duration varies according to the child's age, severity of symptoms, and individual needs. Generally, prominent improvements are observed in 6-12 month processes. Long-term support may be required in some children. Our expert team at our Pendik center updates the duration and content of the program with regular assessments.

Does ADHD education replace medication?

ADHD education does not replace medication but plays a complementary and reinforcing role. For many children, applying education and medication together yields the most effective results. Our center works in coordination with child psychiatrists to offer holistic support.

Can we start the education program without an ADHD diagnosis?

Every child experiencing attention and focusing difficulties can apply for evaluation. After a comprehensive evaluation in our center, an appropriate program proposal is made. Referrals to child psychiatrists are also provided when deemed necessary.

What is the role of families in ADHD education?

Family participation is of critical importance in the success of ADHD education. Psychoeducation about ADHD is given to our families, and strategies and techniques to be applied at home are taught. Information is shared at every stage of the process with regular family meetings, and families are supported.
