Asperger's Syndrome
Expert education support that increases the social communication skills and quality of life of individuals with Asperger syndrome.
Asperger Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental condition located at the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum, causing individuals to experience difficulties in social interaction, communication, and flexibility areas. While individuals with Asperger syndrome generally have normal or superior intelligence levels, they need support in understanding social cues, establishing empathy, and flexible thinking. As Önce Special Education, we offer individual education programs that highlight the strengths of children and youth with Asperger syndrome and develop their social skills in Pendik, Istanbul.
Our Asperger syndrome education program focuses on core areas such as social skills education, pragmatic language skills, emotion recognition and expression, flexible thinking, and problem-solving. Expert psychologists and special educators working at our Pendik center create intervention plans suitable for the needs of each individual by deeply understanding the difficulties unique to Asperger syndrome. Peer interaction is supported in natural environments through social skill groups in addition to one-on-one sessions.
Our center located in the Pendik district of Istanbul aims to increase the social participation and quality of life of individuals with Asperger syndrome. Preserving and developing academic strengths, teaching anxiety management strategies, and school environment adaptation skills are among the important components of our program. However, social interaction difficulties, restricted interests, and flexibility problems are common.
Which approaches are used in Asperger syndrome education?
Social stories, Carol Gray's Social Thinking approach, video modeling, cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, and structured social skill group studies are applied in our center. The strengths of each individual are utilized within the program.
Can my child with Asperger syndrome continue school?
Yes, the vast majority of children with Asperger syndrome can continue their education in inclusive or general education environments. Our center actively cooperates with families and teachers in planning the supports needed in the school environment.
Why is Asperger syndrome support important during adolescence?
