Family Counseling & Psychological Support

A holistic family support program that gives guidance and psychological strength to families of children with special needs.

Family Counseling and Psychological Support program is a comprehensive service offering professional support for emotional, relational, and practical difficulties experienced by families of children with special needs. Being the family of a child with special needs can cause stress and uncertainty in many areas, from the diagnosis process to education planning, daily care, and future anxiety. As Önce Special Education, our experienced psychologists at our center in Pendik, Istanbul, offer professional support to ensure families remain strong and resilient in this process.

Our family counseling program offered at our Pendik center adopts a multi-faceted approach aiming to strengthen the family as a whole. Individual parent counseling, couple counseling, sibling support, family system intervention, and psychoeducation are the core components of our program. Families are informed about their child's diagnosis and education process, supported in processing their emotional responses, and taught effective communication and behavior management strategies they can apply at home. Parents' own psychological health is also among the priority areas of the program.

At our center serving in the Pendik district of Istanbul, family counseling is run parallel to the child's education process. It is ensured that families establish regular communication with the education team, follow the child's development process closely, and offer a consistent support in the home environment. Yes, all counseling sessions are conducted in accordance with the principle of confidentiality. Shared information is not shared with third parties except for legal obligations. We have private counseling rooms where families can feel safe and comfortable in our Pendik center.
